Itinerary:
- Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your journey kicks off with a morning departure from Arusha. As you drive toward Tarangire National Park, watch the landscape transform into acacia-dotted plains and open savannah. Tarangire is known for its ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds.
You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive, searching for elephants, lions, zebras, and even leopards. With fewer crowds than other parks, Tarangire offers a truly authentic wildlife experience. In the evening, arrive at your public campsite, where your crew will set up tents and prepare a warm dinner. Drift off to sleep with the distant sounds of the wild.
- Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll head west toward the famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive itself is scenic, filled with views of Maasai villages, grazing livestock, and wildlife along the way.
Once you arrive at the Serengeti plains, you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive as you journey deeper into the park. The endless grasslands stretch to the horizon, dotted with acacia trees and roaming herds of wildebeest, gazelles, and predators on the hunt. In the evening, you’ll settle into a Serengeti public campsite, surrounded by nature and the pure silence of the savannah.
- Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
This day is dedicated entirely to exploring Serengeti, Tanzania’s most iconic park. Early morning game drives offer the best chance to spot predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, often active before the day warms up.
Throughout the day, your guide will navigate through different regions of the park, adjusting the route based on wildlife movement. If your timing aligns, you may even witness part of the Great Migration — a breathtaking natural event involving thousands of wildebeest and zebras.
Return to camp in the evening for another night beneath the stars, sharing stories around the campfire.
- Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a final game drive as you slowly exit the Serengeti, heading back east toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you may spot animals you missed earlier, such as hyenas, jackals, or more elusive leopards.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the campsite on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. At over 2,200 meters above sea level, the air is cool, and the view into the crater is absolutely stunning — the perfect place to rest before tomorrow’s descent.
- Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
An early breakfast is followed by a once-in-a-lifetime descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor is home to a wide range of wildlife, including black rhinos, elephants, hippos, and a dense lion population.
You’ll enjoy a half-day game drive within this natural amphitheater before heading back to Arusha in the afternoon. You’ll arrive in town by early evening, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure with Dayshamo Safaris.
